Reducing "Period Poverty"

Helping community schools in South Africa

Helping the children of Harkerville School

Did you know that if schoolgirls in poor areas can’t afford sanitary products, then are much more likely to miss school during their periods.

In developing countries, girls may often find it difficult enough to access education, without having to then deal with the added disadvantage of missing up to 5 school days each month, just for the lack of sanitary products.

THIS
is why I started “Keeping Kids In School”…
and I want it to expand to other areas as funds allow.

And for the UK price of a couple of packs of sanitary products a month, YOU can help make an enormous difference.

Sanitary Products

The initial driver for setting up this initiative was to provide free sanitary products to the girls at Harkerville School, to ensure that products that we in more developed countries take for granted, are not an unaffordable luxury for these children.

  • If you know anyone in South Africa who can donate packs of sanitary products, please contact me.
  • If you know anyone in senior management at pharmacies & supermarkets, who would be willing to help, please put them in touch!
  • And if you can help in other ways, lets connect

School Supplies

South Africa is a developing country that has been undergoing significant political upheavals over the past few decades. With recent high levels of corruption within government, the financial impact on services such as education over the last decade has been so significant that some schools simply can’t afford the most basic supplies for their pupils.

Part of the funds raised here will purchase pens, notebooks and school books.
